While you are out there enjoying the marvelous NBA Playoffs (cough cough Lakers), Sport Sayers is hard at work making some changes to the overall site.
As you may have noticed, the post count have been down over the last couple of weeks. Well don’t worry. We didn’t forget or quit, but instead we are trying to become stronger.
Expect everything to be done in about two weeks time, unless we take steroids (but we are not expecting to play baseball). Although if the Lakers keep winning maybe June… but not really.
What to do in the mean time?
Check our archives or write your own story and we will post it up (giving you full credit of course). Sport Sayers see hundreds of visitors a day even over the last couple of weeks with the low post activity and we are a Google Page Rank 3.

I don’t think I have ever heard a whole crowd synchronizing such a chant in the United States. Maybe at an English Premier League do you hear profanity being screamed when Manchester United is playing at Old Trafford. But tonight at the Garden, you could clearly hear the chant.
In the 2nd quarter, Lebron picked up a long loose rebound and was 2 on 1 going strong to the hoop. He was confronted by Rajon Rondo and Sam Cassell. As he was about to go up for a lay-up, Sam Cassell grabbed the back of Lebron’s jersey, started to pull him down, and then tried to get a piece of the ball. Rondo was just a cone in Lebron’s course and really wasn’t a factor. As Lebron was falling to the floor, Cassell hit James’ upper lip and looked to have cut it. Lebron fell to the floor after clutching his lip to see if it was bleeding.

With Avery Johnson currently unemployed and Mike D’antoni’s job in question, what if there was a possible coach swap here? Follow me for a second.
When Johnson first came to the Mavericks, people were excited with the defensive aspect he brought to the teams; however, after several successful regular seasons, he has yet to produce in the post, with multiple collaspe. Now, with the addition of Jason Kidd, could D’antoni be the answer of some sort? He did coach Steve Nash, and perhaps he can develop Kidd and Dirk Nowtiski combo.
On the flip side, what about the Phoenix Suns? Sure they trapped themselves with the Shaq trade, but the real problem is not being able to find a solid game plan. Technically they have the pieces, and offense should still really not be a problem, so what if Johnson was able to bring that defensive pressure to Phoenix?

After the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks were both exited out of the playoffs in a quick five games, does this mean that the powers are finally about to change?
For the past three years essentially the Spurs, Suns, and Mavericks have competed in the Western Conference championship; however, now with 2/3 out, and the Spurs not looking like they will be able to keep up with the Hornets, could none of the three be around come the finals?
Dallas Mavericks
A really sad story if you think about it. They basically gave the Championship to the Miami Heat, then suffered two miserable early exits. With the trade that brought Jason Kidd to Dallas, it looked like they essentially gambled for now or nothing. Now the coach is gone, and next year looks like it will only be tougher with the rise of Portland and the Clippers.
